Biography
 

Valery Sariev was born on January 3, 1950 in Moscow in a family of musicians. He graduated from the Gnesin Music Academy in 1975 as the pianist (with Prof. Oleg Boshnjakovich) and 1989 as the composer (with Prof. Gennady Chernov).
Member of the Union of Russian composers since 1995.
Last decade the XX gives composer the special attention mostly to genres of sacred music.
Works of Valery Sariev are performed at the festivals and concerts of Russia, Europe (Serbia, Germany, France,) and USA), sounded on radio, are published by Publishing House «Kompozitor» and Edition «Jurgenson».
From 1977 he has taught composition at the Schnittke Moscow State Institute of Music.
