Roman Ledenyov - russian composer and teacher. Born at 4 December 1930 in Moscow. He was educated at the Central Musical School of the Moscow Conservatory from 1942 until 1948, he studied under N. Rakov and composition under A.N. Aleksandrov at the Moscow Conservatory from 1948 until 1958. He completed his postgraduate training there and later joined the staff as a theory and afterwards - composition teacher. His music is marked by a delicate psychological approach, a general lyrical quality and an attractive Russian atmosphere. Having proclaimed Music as an expression of ideal Harmony and Beauty it is necessary to aspire towards an entrancing magic of its lyricizm not forgetting about natural newness of simple details.
R.Ledenyov in common with the Andrey Mikita found the creative group “MACT” (Musical Association of Contemporary Tradition) attached to Union of the Moscow composers. This creative group consolidates the composers of human and ethnic guideline.
