Biography
 

Archpriest Andrey Bondarenko was born in 1955 in Vilnius (Lithuania) in 1955. Graduated from the Byelorussian state conservatory as a composer (class of prof. D.Smolsky). The member of Union of the composers USSR (1985). The winner of the State premium of Republic Byelorussia (opera «Prince of the Navagrad») 1994. Winner of the National premium of Republic Byelorussia "For spiritual renascence" (2003). Since 2008 A. Bondarenko is the associate professor of faculty of composition Byelorussian state Academy of music.

In 1992 has created municipal concert association "Kapella of Grodno", and until 1996 has worked as artistic director. These years "Kapella of Grodno" had performed in Poland, Germany, France and Norway.

Ordained deacon on 1995 from metropolitan Filaret, Exarch of Patriarch for all Byelorussia, and ordained priest on July 14 1996 from Artemius, archbishop of Grodno and Volkovyssk. Until 2007 clergyman of St Boris and Gleb (Kolozhskaya) Church in Grodno; since 2007 priest of a Grodno Cathedral. By day of Sacred Easter, April 19, 2009, ordained archpriest.

Precentor of chorus of clergy of Grodno eparchy. The chairman of jury on festival of orthodox canticles "Blagovest of Khologe", realized in Grodno annually since 2002.

In creative activity is engaged since 1971. At the centre of composers attention - music connected to the canonical sacred texts, prays, ancient Orthodox culture of the Slavonic folks, their historical heritage and place in the modern world.

Works in various genres: chamber instrumental and vocal, symphonic and vocal-symphonic, choral music. Since 1995 composed in the main works on the sacred texts.
